The Traka 2024 - When the rain in Spain falls mainly on Girona

The Traka is one of, if not the biggest gravel cycling events in Europe, with multiple distances across the week. It had been due to start on Wednesday with the 540km, which should have included over 10,000 metres of elevation! Weather, including snow in the Pyrenees, resulted in a route change, to 540km with 7000 metres of elevation, but this was later cancelled due to the threat of storms. All riders had the option instead to enter the 360km distance, and while this might not sound significantly different, the 560/540 was a self-supported ultra-style event, whereas the 360km was much flatter, with full support. As I was already in Spain, the only realistic option was to take the option to enter the 360km - which was then shortened due to the weather.
