I Was Finally Ready to Start It… Then I Heard This!

I made another attempt to get the Ford Zodiac V8 running in this episode, but things didn’t go quite to plan. After setting the ignition timing, fitting a new starter motor, installing the oil pressure gauge, spacing the water pump and completing the oil filter fitting and filter setup, we were finally getting close to first startup. However, issues with the oil filter fitting and a concerning knock from the sump when turning the engine over by hand changed the direction of the day. In this episode we investigate and improvise solutions to keep the project moving forward while trying to diagnose the source of the internal noise. 🚗 Car: Ford Zodiac V8 🔧 Job: Timing setup, starter replacement, oil system installation & fault diagnosis ⚠️ Reason: Preparing for first engine start and resolving mechanical concerns Chapters: 00:00 - Intro 01:02 - Starter Motor 05:50 - Oil Gauge Fitting 06:35 - Water Pump Refit 09:21 - Timing Reset 13:01 - A Worrying Knock! 14:26 - Fixing the Knock & Finding more Issues! 23:27 - More Electrical Puzzles!
