Dr. Krista Hiser traced the uptake of the key competencies in sustainability framework from its landmark publication in 2011 to its growing influence on sustainability education research, curriculum design, assessment, and ultimately the accreditation of sustainability degree programs in the United States. The event invited reflection on the relevance of a unifying competency framework for universities in Baden-Württemberg and in Germany.
