Capture process and impurities (gigaCCS webinar: 18 June, 2026)
Impurities in captured CO₂ can have an adverse effect on the cost and operability of a CCUS chain, and this issue is currently receiving a lot of attention. This raises the question of the extent to which the capture process and CO₂ conditioning system need to be modified to meet impurity specifications. However, very little experimental data is available on impurity levels from capture processes. In this webinar, Eirik Falck da Silva (SINTEF Industry), Mission Area 1 Lead in gigaCCS, will examine the current understanding of impurities in capture processes and CO₂ conditioning systems, with a particular focus on amine-based CO₂ capture.
