Wareham River Stripers
I dragged my Old Town 106 peddle kayak out onto the Wareham River in Wareham, MA, in search of my first Buzzard's Bay Striper of 2026. It wasn't long before I hooked up while trolling a tube + worm rig on the way out. While surrounded by thousands of "swirls" (big bass on the surface), I was shocked that they were not interested in any top-water lures that I threw at them. As it turns out, they were feeding on crabs. The tube and worm did bring 7 fish into the boat however, and here is a taste. Tight lines!
