(HD) Freightliner 66's etc, at Taunton. Wed 11th March 2015.

Worth watching in 1080 HD, Full Screen, and increase the volume! After a last minute look at the RTT site , i decided to dash over to Taunton Station to capture what i thought looked an interesting working. 674U was expected at 09.51 on a Swindon transfer, no idea what Loco was scheduled...basically Swindon-Taunton-Swindon. What actually transpired was it was cancelled.. i found out when i got Home at Lunchtime...oh well...some you win, some you lose !! In this video i positioned myself on Platform 2, which gives the best overall long distance view of North and South...This way i had a chance of catching things quickly. The Freightliner clips were a bonus i hadn't envisaged, and details are given below. I have just found out that Freightliner have been sold to an American Company for £490 million. The new majority shareholder is Genesee & Wyoming Inc, and have said that all existing arrangements for Company and staff will remain unaltered. The G&W own Freight Railroads in the USA, Australia,Canada,The Netherlands and Belgium . I was also very pleased to capture Former London Midland Citizensrail.org liveried class 153....153325 which made a nice change of colour on a FGW service. Seen on the 10.01 2C67 Cardiff to Paignton diagram. The Virgin Cross Country HST 43304 is the first VCC HST i have seen at Taunton, which makes a change from the norm ... so well happy. 1) Freightliners 66956 and 66555 are on 644T Wareham- Fairwater Yard. 2) Freightliner 66952 on 061V Stoke Gifford- Fairwater Yard. 3) Freightliner 66555 on 603V Fairwater Yard- Westbury Up TC.
