1990s Critics Review the Bubsy the Bobcat Series (Limited Run/Carbon Engine)

One of the big announcements of the month came when Limited Run Games revealed the existence of Bubsy in: The Purrfect Collection. This upcoming compilation will bring together all of the bobcat’s classic adventures in one cool package. While it’s not exactly clear what will come in the collection, the Steam page suggests we’ll not only get the console releases, but also the Game Boy and Jaguar games, as well Bubsy 3D. That’s exciting news, but are any of these games actually worth playing? To answer that question, I decided to flip through the pages of Electronic Gaming Monthly, Next Generation, Die Hard Game Fan and more classic magazines to see what the critics said back when these games first came out.
