LO SPETTACOLO EQUESTRE ACCENDE L'ESTATE DI VIETRI DI POTENZA

"The Night of the Stars," the equestrian show that for seven years has brought the greatest artists in the field to Vietri di Potenza, kicked off the summer events at the "Gateway to Lucania." This year, the event, organized by Gaetano Campiglia with the patronage of the Municipality of Vietri and the collaboration of the Basilicata Equitation Association, featured Luciano Messina and Giovanni Cascone L'Hispanico, both from Campania and both at the forefront of equestrian theater. The event was also organized in memory of Luca Sannino, a young Vietri native who passed away prematurely. Particularly moving was Giovanni Cascone's rendition of the song "Caruso," astride his Friesian stallion Eracle, dedicated to Luca's memory. But the show offered many other thrills: from the magical acts, halfway between mime and theater, of Luciano Messina with his mini Shetland sheep and Ciuchino the donkey, to the very young Liam Messina with his free-roaming horses, to Domenico Rosolia, and Hispanico, who amazed everyone with a highly original bachata, a pas de deux with the mare Gioia, and a simulated sword fight. The mayor of Vietri di Potenza, Christian Giordano: "Thanks to Gaetano for trying every year to instill a passion in the people of Vietri. This show represents the beginning of many summer events, and I take this opportunity to remember our Tipica on August 12th and 13th, which will be dedicated to the memory of Domenico di Carlo, who also left us this year."
