KEYSTONE - Thierry Deleruyelle | WMC 2022

The Percussion Ensemble of the Vriezenveense Harmonie [NL] plays 'KEYSTONE' as a part of their programme: "Shaping a Legacy". Composed by Thierry Deleruyelle, KEYSTONE tells the story of 'Odeon' of Vriezenveen, a town in the Netherlands. “Odeon” is the name of ancient Greek and Roman buildings used for activities such as singing, music and poetry. This was the name chosen in 1998 by several members of the ‘Vriezenveense Harmonie’ for the cultural centre they decided to have built. KEYSTONE is written for both percussion and wind ensembles, and can thus be played by both ensembles simultaneously or separately. This piece was commissioned by the Vriezenveense Harmonie to commemorate their 100th anniversary in 2020. The orchestral version can be found here:    • Keystone – Thierry Deleruyelle   Performed at the World Music Contest (WMC) 2022. 9th of July 2022 I Theater Kerkrade, the Netherlands Conductor: Niek KleinJan With a score of 92.62, the ensemble placed itself as a global 3rd in the 1st Division. #Percussion #WMC2022
