In this lecture, the sheikh examines in detail the prohibition of alcohol and intoxicants, drawing on hadith. He explains that the prohibition on alcohol was introduced in four stages, and also establishes Sharia penalties (had) for drinking alcohol. He emphasizes that drugs are even worse than alcohol, and that a drink that intoxicates in large quantities is prohibited even in small quantities. The sheikh also examines a hadith that, among other things, indicates the permissibility of trading with unbelievers. The sheikh also explains the legal consequences of intoxication: a drunk bears full financial liability for damage to another's property, and statements made while intoxicated are disregarded. Liability is also discussed separately if a person intentionally becomes intoxicated to commit murder. In addition, the sheikh reminds us of the rule: anything cut off from a living person is considered carrion.
