Enrolled at the National Defense Medical College in 2003. While enrolled, he began mountaineering and founded the mountaineering club. He has climbed rock, snow, ice, and streams in all seasons, both domestically and internationally. He continues to actively engage in mountaineering activities to this day. After graduating from the National Defense Medical College in 2009 (receiving the Academic Award), he was commissioned as a medical officer in the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, where he primarily engaged in training and research related to low-pressure environments. During this time, he wrote a paper on mountain medicine, conducted mountain training with the Air Rescue Team, and worked on remote islands. In 2017, he began mountain medical patrols in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, and continues to do so to this day. In 2020, he graduated from the National Defense Medical College Graduate School of Medicine (with a one-year study abroad program in the UK). His research focuses on elucidating the mechanisms of altitude sickness. He retired from the Japan Air Self-Defense Force in 2022 (at the time of retirement, he was a Lieutenant Colonel).
