Ingredients for the dough: 🔺 120 ml lukewarm water 🔺 120 ml lukewarm milk 🔺 1 tbsp sugar 🔺 7 g dry yeast 🔺 1 egg, room temperature 🔺 1 tsp salt 🔺 40 g vegetable oil 🔺 400–430 g flour Ingredients for the filling: 🔺 about 150 g ketchup, tomato paste, or spicy tomato sauce 🔺 150 g mozzarella 🔺 spring onions and dill 🔺 alternatively: parsley 🔺 30 g melted butter For brushing: 🔺 1 egg yolk 🔺 1 tsp milk Preparation: Mix water and milk with sugar and dry yeast. Add the egg, salt, and vegetable oil. Gradually incorporate the flour, as the exact amount may vary depending on the flour. Knead the dough on the work surface for about 10 minutes until smooth, elastic, and only slightly sticky. Grease a bowl with vegetable oil, place the dough inside, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour. Briefly knead the risen dough and divide it into 2 equal parts. Roll out the first part into a rectangle and spread with tomato sauce. Sprinkle with mozzarella, spring onions, and dill. Roll out the second dough portion as well, place it over the filling, and smooth it out. Cut into strips. Brush with melted butter, stack two strips on top of each other, and twist them together. Let the dough sticks rest for 30 minutes. Then brush with egg yolk and milk and bake at 180 °C (356 °F) for about 25–30 minutes. Please adjust according to your oven.
