"RITA" is a documentary on the lifelong influences and journey of artist and musician Rita McKeough. Independently produced and directed by AvidEye Productions, 2026. Supported by The Canada Council for the Arts. McKeough is a renowned, groundbreaking, interdisciplinary artist and musician whose career spans over four decades in music, sound, installation, kinetic sculpture and performance. An irresistible force in Canadian contemporary art McKeough is recognised for her commitment to experimentation, mentorship, and her dedication to fostering artistic development and community. Awarded the Canadian Governor General’s Award in Visual and Media Arts in 2009, McKeough is a recent recipient of the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Distinguished Artist Award, 2025.
