So main points are for sewing military buttons on to uniform. 1 Use thick thread where possible. 2 Use thread that matches the uniform colour. 3 After forming the first 4-5 stitches use the loops to tighten up the first stitches. Remember to put tight. Only need 3 or 4 of these. 4 To make thick thread use thinner thread 4 ply’s thick waxing well makes nice thick single thread. 5 If you want to form a shank on the trouser style buttons so not so tight to the trousers.
