Singer 201. Unfreezing the simple bering that is part of the raising and lowering of the dogs.
The simple bering is located in the feed fork and raises and lowers the dogs in normal operation of the machine and it also has lever and locking screw so that the dogs can be lowered and locked for free motion sewing. The bering is in a difficult place to see and get to and is often missed and over the years it becomes gummed up and stops turning as it should. This can cause the bering to freeze and will cause wear on the bering and may have two 'flats' so stopping it to turn as it should.
