Death Signs and Superstitions from Counties Wexford, Mayo and Tipperary Here is a 10 minute compilation of death related superstitions and signs that I recorded about 17 years ago in Mayo, Tipperary and Wexford. I watched this over the past few days and it really registered with me again. Maybe the passing of time helps too. Some really great personal content here and the stories range from robins coming into the house to seeing ghost or ‘the fetch’ of someone who’d have passed away. Seriously powerful material here and these would have been recorded in day care centres in Ballinrobe in Co. Mayo, Nenagh and Chair in Tipperary and Raheen and Castlebridge in Co. Wexford. As I said, this is the real stuff. None of your mythical, Celtic fog stuff or ‘performer’ storytellers - instead just ordinary people with stories of what they experienced or believe. Serious stuff.
