Rhythms at Large

The Walker Family BEAT IT dancers in the North of England. We commence with a clapping routine which imitates the production line machinery of industrial Britain. Next we show body beats with a basic rhythm being disturbed by syncopated beats. Following are the wooden soles of the clogs beating rhythms which were created by the coal miners in the 19th century. Being shown are the traditional beats in the Durham and Northumberland style with the second routine giving us the rhythm of a snare drum often heard with the pipe bands in Scotland. Finally a song accompanied by beats using fingers and cups ... something for everyone!
