The German twisted cast on, also known as Old Norwegian Cast On, creates a super stretchy edge. It's a variation of the standard longtail cast-on and works in a similar way. But because you twist stitches as you cast them on, you get a stretchier edge. It's a bit more difficult to knit that's why I included a couple of slow-motion repeats of me doing the German twisted cast on. But i will also show you a super easy alternative. You can also do a single cast on and knit across one row. It will create the exact same results as the German twisted cast on but might be a bit easier to knit - especially as you don't need a tail and can never run out of yarn. I also included a way to do the German twisted can on purlwise in case you want to knit ribbing.
