This is How the Murderers of Colonel Katamso Ended This is how the perpetrators of the murders of Colonel Katamso and Lieutenant Colonel Sugiono ended up. Colonel Katamso and Lieutenant Colonel Sugiono, two high-ranking officers of the 072 Pamungkas Yogyakarta Military Command, were kidnapped and brutally murdered by a group of the 30 September Movement (Gerakan 30 September) members. They were kidnapped by the 30 September Movement's own men and then brutally murdered at the L Battalion Headquarters complex in Kentungan, Central Java. One of the perpetrators directly involved in the brutal murders of Colonel Katamso and Lieutenant Colonel Sugiono was Sergeant Kamil. After the 30 September Movement failed, both in Jakarta and Central Java, the perpetrators panicked and tried to flee. The perpetrators of the murders of Colonel Katamso and Lieutenant Colonel Sugiono were no exception. But as the saying goes, no matter how clever a squirrel jumps, it will eventually fall. This was also the fate of the perpetrators of the murders of Colonel Katamso and Lieutenant Colonel Sugiono. One by one, they were ambushed by soldiers. One of them was First Lieutenant Kamil. According to the book "Katamso," written by Sagimun MD, on October 13, 1965, former Second Lieutenant, or First Lieutenant Kamil, was arrested at his home in Secang District, Magelang. First Lieutenant Kamil was the officer known to have led and supervised the brutal murder of Colonel Katamso and Lieutenant Sugiono at Battalion L Headquarters in Kentungan. That night, according to Julianto Ibrahim, the atmosphere at Battalion L Headquarters was tense and tense. The military headquarters was bustling with traffic. Military vehicles were coming and going until late at night. The number of guards was also increased, exceeding the usual number. Some of them proposed that Colonel Katamso be shot, while others suggested that Colonel Katamso be strangled with a wire around his neck. Following these discussions, Sergeant Alip Toyo was assigned by First Class Pelda Kamil to dig a grave, along with Sergeants Katimin, First Class Dirun, and First Class Darmo. The grave was dug behind the maintenance platoon's car garage to the south, near the barbed wire fence that still stands within the L Battalion headquarters complex. After some time digging the grave, First Class Sergeant Kamil came to inspect the grave. First Class Sergeant Alip Toyo was ordered by First Class Sergeant Alip Toyo to retrieve an 8-inch mechanic's wrench, approximately 40 centimeters long and weighing approximately 2 kilograms, as a hammer to kill Colonel Katamso and Lieutenant Colonel Sugiono. Afterward, First Class Sergeant Alip Toyo was assigned to carry out the assassinations of Colonel Katamso and Lieutenant Colonel Sugiono. Initially, Alip Toyo refused, claiming it was not his job. However, after First Class Sergeant Kamil explained that this was a military order and a superior's order, First Class Sergeant Alip Toyo accepted the task with full awareness. At approximately 2:00 a.m. on October 2, 1965, the grave was dug. It was then guarded by six soldiers led by First Class Sergeant Alip Toyo. Shortly, a Gaz vehicle arrived. It turned out the vehicle was carrying Lieutenant Colonel Sugiono. As Lieutenant Colonel Sugiono had just gotten out of the vehicle, his head was suddenly struck from behind by a hard object. It turned out to be a mortar shell. The person who struck him was Sergeant Alip Toyo. Lieutenant Colonel Sugiono immediately fell to the ground, covered in blood. Without mercy, Lieutenant Colonel Sugiono's body was dragged and then thrown into a prepared hole. As if not satisfied, the soldiers there pelted Lieutenant Colonel Sugiono with large stones. Not long after, a second Gaz vehicle arrived. This vehicle turned out to be carrying Colonel Katamso. Colonel Katamso was asked to get out of the vehicle. But after only a few steps, Colonel Katamso's head was suddenly struck from behind with a mortar shell. The executioner was Sergeant Alip Toyo.
