Does the American Dream Still Exist? 🇺🇸

I was born on the 4th of July, and every year my birthday has reminded me of something much bigger than myself: the opportunities that America gave my family. In this video, I'm sharing my story completely unscripted. My parents immigrated to the United States from South Korea in search of a better life. Like many immigrant families, we didn't grow up with much. We experienced poverty, watched every dollar, and learned the value of hard work at an early age. Growing up, I believed the formula everyone told me: ➡️ Go to school. ➡️ Get good grades. ➡️ Go to college. ➡️ Get a stable job. ➡️ Work until retirement. So I followed that path. I took out student loans to earn my college degree and became a public school teacher. I taught for 12 years—a career I'm grateful for—but like many Americans, I found myself caught in the cycle of student loans, car payments, consumer debt, and the constant pressure to trade my time for money. Eventually, I realized I wanted something different. This video is a personal reflection on gratitude, opportunity, sacrifice, and what America has meant to me as the child of immigrants. I'm thankful for my parents, who took enormous risks to give their children a better future. I'm thankful for the freedom to choose a different path. I'm thankful to live in a country where it's possible to reinvent yourself through hard work, perseverance, and personal responsibility. Whether you agree with my perspective or not, I hope this conversation encourages you to reflect on your own journey and what freedom means to you. If this story resonates with you, I'd love to hear yours in the comments. What does being an American mean to you? Thanks for watching, and Happy Independence Day 🇺🇸
