How to Apply Tape Trim and/or Bead Trim on Drapery Leading Edges
Adding trim to the leading edges of your drapery panels can be tricky. Adding 2 layers of bead trim AND a velvet tape trim is extra difficult. We have a gorgeous project here to show you how we achieved beautifully finished leading edges with many layers of trims. Check out some of our go to tricks of the trade that can make this task a little easier with professional results. We like to use DoFix brand adhesive tape (you can order DoFix tape from Home Sewing Depot- see the link below) to baste the trims to the fabric before sewing them. This process is very tedious but is worth the effort when making high end custom drapery. We prefer using this method over hand stitching the trims. The machine stitching is very clean and nearly invisible with matching thread and consistent straight lines. For more details check out the extended video on Patreon- see the link below.
