How to Upholster an Arched Cornice with Trim & Nail Heads
In this 2-part cornice series you'll see how upholster a gorgeous arched cornice. First, we pre-upholster the frame with batting and interlining. This is an important part of the process for us. The interlining helps us position the final embroidered fabric. Once we cut and determine pattern placement the seams are stitched and pressed open. Then we set the fabric with pins into the interlining and make as many adjustments needed until every motif is centered and balanced. Watch to see how this cornice comes to life while picking up valuable tips and techniques. You'll learn why we cut the self-welt on the bias and see how to apply it. If you enjoy this video, you'll love part 2 where you can see the finishing touches and the final reveal. Each part will have an extended cut posted on Patreon for anyone wanting to see even more detailed explanation and deleted footage. Thank you, John Tomasek, for your expert carpentry skills!!
