Today the Church celebrates the Memorial of Saint Bonaventure, Bishop and Doctor of the Church, a Franciscan saint renowned for his profound wisdom, deep humility, and burning love for Christ. He taught that true knowledge always leads to love and that genuine wisdom begins with humility before God. Today's readings invite us to reject the pride that separates us from God and to embrace the childlike humility that opens our hearts to His truth. Through the prophet Isaiah, we see the danger of self-exaltation, while in the Gospel, Jesus rejoices that the mysteries of God's Kingdom are revealed to the humble. As we begin this day, let us ask through the intercession of Saint Bonaventure for humble hearts, eager to know God not only with our minds but also with our lives.
