Sanitation Crews Clean Venice Homeless Encampments with Police Oversight

City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works sanitation workers, wearing white hazardous materials suits, conducted a targeted cleanup around homeless encampments at Hampton Drive and Third Street in Venice on Thursday, September 15, 2022. The effort, carried out in coordination with Clean Harbors Hazardous Waste Management, focused on spot-cleaning areas impacted by waste accumulation. Los Angeles Police officers were present during the operation to ensure public safety, while outreach workers from the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) engaged with individuals experiencing homelessness to provide assistance and resources.
