Personal review of shrub rose “ Golden celebration” from @david_austin_roses #gardenerben

“Golden celebration”introduced by ‪@david_austin_roses‬ in 1992 This large shrub rose reaches 4’ x 4’ and is perfect for planting individually or or en masse for a larger statement show Tall, woody, stems, bare large, dusty, gold blooms, which nod gracefully towards the floor, the buds are orange tinged with red and just as they open The enormous flowers can reach up to 4 1/2 inches across, and are loosely formed, looking very much like a peony flower, often tinged with the most beautiful hints of pinkie peach, depending on the weather The foliage is incredibly large and light, mint or pea green in colour and like with most roses from this era that produce flowers of this size for several months at a time. This rose, if stressed will be prone to black spot and mildew, so make sure you pay special attention to your mulching and watering during the height of the season.
