Scouting Thetford Forest and North Norfolk

The green lanes of Norfolk are renowned for a reason. They’re simply lovely to ride. From sandy farm tracks to woodland trails, gently undulating landscapes to the flint cottages of picturesque villages, this is a beautiful area to explore. We went for a day of scouting, piecing together the best trails to create a flowing, enjoyable route, and of course checking out the local hostelry! The result was a massively enjoyable day's riding, and two happy, if slightly dusty, guides. Join us on Sunday 26th July for a full day’s ride around Thetford Forest and North Norfolk, with friendly company and a relaxed pace perfectly suited to adventure bikes. This ride starts from Brandon, Suffolk, and winds through the beautiful Brecklands area, on forest trails towards Swaffham, then on through sweeping heath and farmland into north west Norfolk. Taking in parts of the ancient Peddars Way, there are refreshments on hand at local coffee shops as we take in the windmills and pine avenues of this distinctive landscape. You can expect sandy farm tracks, flinty surfaces and gravel roads, forest trails and single track, gentle inclines and a small water crossing, as well as minor roads through heathland, farmland and villages. With around 6 hours of riding time, this route is well suited to adventure bikes and riders with a little experience and a reasonable level of fitness. With an easy-going pace, a small, friendly group and experienced guides, the focus is on enjoying the riding and countryside for a relaxed and comfortable day out.
