Barn Find Parked Here Since 1988... We Got It Out!

What we thought would be a straightforward recovery quickly turned into one of our toughest jobs yet. Our customer had a classic Saab that had been parked in the same garage since 1988, and after nearly 40 years it was finally time to get it out. We loaded up the Touareg, trailer and winch expecting an easy day, but the location had other ideas. The garage sat on a single-track road with almost no room to manoeuvre, making it incredibly difficult to position the trailer and recover the car safely. As if that wasn’t enough, one of the Saab’s wheels was completely seized. No matter how much we winched it or dragged it with the Touareg, it simply refused to move properly. After plenty of problem-solving, we eventually managed to manoeuvre the car around on the driveway and get it lined up with the trailer before finally loading it. Just when we thought the hard work was over… things took another unexpected turn, and one of us ended up taking a painful fall that definitely wasn’t in the plan.
