On May 12, residents of Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region, which is being attacked again by the Russian army, left their city en masse. Two locals jumped into a volunteer evacuation car, which was followed by UP journalists, literally on the move. One of them, Ms. Valentina, explained her decision by saying that she was afraid of a second Russian occupation, because one of her sons was fighting. The other, the younger one, died in the war. Locals say that the Russian offensive in the Kharkiv region began on the night of May 10. Then, as Ms. Valentina's husband said, "the whole border was thundering." Today, the Russians shelled Vovchansk from the direction of the already captured Pletenivka and partially captured Hatishch (east and northeast). The city center was hit the hardest - it was very smoky. It is worth noting that the sounds of Ukrainian artillery "exits" could be heard clearly in the city and its vicinity all day long.
