A motorcyclist claiming to be "rich" and backed by members of the gang, brutally assaulted a married couple in front of their young child, leaving them traumatized. The incident went viral after the victim posted it on Instagram on Tuesday (June 30th). The incident took place at the traffic light at the Soepomo intersection (in front of the Mitsubishi dealership/Indomaret Point), Tebet, South Jakarta. The victim, her husband, and child had just returned from the hospital after the child underwent a therapy session. While stopping at the traffic light from Saharjo towards Pancoran, the victim shifted slightly to the left to allow another driver to turn left. The perpetrator, who was coming from Pancoran towards Tebet, suddenly approached the victim. Although there was no collision and the road was clear, the perpetrator immediately began shouting and swearing at the victim. Despite the victim's husband's apologies in a soft tone, the perpetrator escalated. The perpetrator attempted to hit the victim's husband, but the victim parried the attack, causing a painful hand. The altercation was briefly broken up by local residents. However, as the victim was about to head to the police station, the perpetrator's female companion suddenly struck the victim from behind. Unwilling to accept the beating, the victim's husband got off his motorcycle to defend himself, but was immediately rewarded with a clean punch by the perpetrator in front of their hysterically crying child. After challenging the victim to settle the matter at the police station, the perpetrator and his female companion fled and evaded responsibility.
