Jon Stead | Extended Interview
Jon Stead's football career has seen him play over 700 times on the pitch and travel over to America off it before landing at Bristol Rovers ahead of the 2025/26 season. The 42-year-old played 85 times in the Premier League, netting a debut winner for Blackburn Rovers against Middlesbrough soon after transferring from boyhood club Huddersfield Town. Representing 12 teams across his career, Stead began his coaching career in the USL Championship with Hartford Athletic before going across to Tampa Bay Rowdies, where he worked under Neill Collins. Then, when Collins moved to Barnsley as Head Coach, Stead followed. Stead remained at Barnsley when Darrell Clarke took charge of the Tykes, and when the 47-year-old returned to the Gas in the summer, Stead was the first to join his coaching team as Assistant Head Coach. Speaking to BBC Radio Bristol's 'Having a Gas,' Stead reflected on his career and opened up about the work that goes on every day at The Quarters Training Facility. ► Subscribe | / @bristolroversf.c ► Follow us on Instagram | www.instagram.com/official_brfc/ ► Follow us on X | https://x.com/Official_BRFC ► Like us on Facebook | / officialbristolrovers ► Visit our official website | www.bristolrovers.co.uk ► Buy tickets | https://www.eticketing.co.uk/bristolr... ► Club shop | brfcdirect.co.uk
