Let me start by saying this is the easy combo that is not using Shift. Shift adds 50% more damage by taking the nodes Deadly Ambush and Braskula's Hesitation. It can also instantly kill enemies under 16% health by taking Consume by Shadows node. It is a much harder combo, feels clunky and doesn't do pretty much anything for Shadow Rend and Shadow Cascade. If you are skilled enough, by all means, use it. The idea is to hit the last cast of the 3 casts of Umbral Blades when you have 5 flow stacks (Bladedancer passives that give 50% more critical strike chance). You need to max your dusk shrouds, you generate them by simply attacking with shadow rend, something between 90-120, depending on your attack speed and gear rolls. I think I had around 100 on this kill. Read the Flow passive. You cast Smoke bomb at least 2 times and spam Shadow rend, you will have 2 flow stacks, then I position my character on top of the boss with smoke bomb and press and hold the Umbral blades button, it will cast in sequence, increasing your flow to 3 and 4 and with the third and last hit, flow will become 5 and be consumed, increasing damage and recall the blades from ground. The reason I jump on the boss is that all blades that are coming back will hit him. So in reality they are many hits but because it all happens in the same frame the game adds the damage into a big number. The nodes in Umbral blades that boost the damage are, Backstab, Bloody Trail and Thousands Cuts that adds 6% critical multiplier per blade. Then you have the 4 idols that add 8% increased damage with Umbral Blades per Dusk Shroud (which we have on average 100). So you have 32% increase damage per umbral blades times 100, and then you add the Altars Prefix that adds up to 50-82% increase of prefixes on idols on refracted slots making that 32% into a 48% times 100 dusk shrouds, and if you are SUPER lucky you can find an altar that adds up to 80% increase prefixes on idols which would make that 32% into a 57% times 100 dusk shrouds = 5700% increase damage. There are even more multipliers like the amulet 30% more physical damage, the reforged weapon that adds critical multiplier up to 60% with 200 bleeds on the target, armor shred and physical resistance shred from blessing, 20% more damage from the 2 set piece of Jormun's feast.
