Life on a Sailboat: The End of a Sea Voyage in Greece Life on a sailboat always brings us to the end of a sea journey or an adventure. I am about to conclude my exploration of the Greek islands. After more than twenty years of sailing across the Aegean sea, I am finally reaching the Ionian sea. But today, I am still along the coast of the Peloponnese. In this video log, I’ll share how I sailed solo all the way to Plitra. The amazing thing is that right next to the harbour where my Maruzza is moored, lies the ancient city of Asopos. One of the best things about living on a boat is discovering almost unknown places. Asopos was destroyed by an earthquake millennia ago, sinking into the sea. So today, I am going to explore it freediving—with just a mask and fins! I was expecting to see ancient columns and underwater archaeology, but instead, I came face to face with a Caretta caretta sea turtle. An incredible sight!
