Get ready for a magnificent day of hiking to Lac d’Ansabère and Ibón de Acherito: step into the Cirque de Lescun, straddling the border between France and Spain—one of the most spectacular and majestic spots in the Pyrenees. Various trails offer the chance to explore the breathtaking scenery of these mountains in the Aspe Valley, in the heart of Béarn. Standing at the foot of the Aiguilles d’Ansabère, the Table des Trois Rois, and the Pic d’Anie, hikers feel truly tiny... Today, I’m taking you to discover several gems within the Cirque de Lescun and two of the Pyrenees' most beautiful lakes: • the splendid Lac d’Ansabère, reflecting the cirque’s main peaks, • Lac de la Chourique (known as Ibón de Acherito in Aragonese), nestled at the foot of impressive rock faces. This hike will take us across both sides of the Western Pyrenees: the French and the Spanish. We’ll admire a multitude of peaks from the border ridge and marvel at some of the most magnificent scenery the Pyrenees have to offer...
