Exploring the Many Sides of Thousand Springs Idaho

Thousand Springs State Park (and region) turned out to be far more than we expected. What started as a day of exploring hidden canyons, waterfalls, and overlooks quickly became one of our favorite stops in Idaho. From the depths of Malad Gorge and the crystal-clear water of Box Canyon to the incredible flow of Niagara Springs, every stop seemed to reveal something different. The next morning, we launched our kayak into choppy conditions and paddled our way through Blue Heart Springs, where some of the bluest water we've ever seen was waiting just around the bend. The journey continued to Ritter Island, where water emerging from Idaho's famous "Lost Rivers" pours from the canyon walls after spending nearly 200 years underground. Join us as we explore one of Idaho's most unique landscapes and discover why Thousand Springs became one of the highlights of our journey through the Gem State. 📍 Locations Featured: • Malad Gorge • Box Canyon Springs • Niagara Springs • Crystal Lake • Balanced Rock Park • Blue Heart Springs • Ritter Island • Lemmon Falls 🐾 Abby's adventure count: She approved of the hikes. The kayak? Not so much, since she had to stay behind.
