We visited the largest remaining fragment of Atlantic Forest in Paraíba to closely observe essential research for the conservation of rare and endangered birds in the Northeast. At the invitation of CEMAVE (National Center for Research on Wild Birds), part of ICMBio, we show how researchers are identifying where endangered species still survive, which areas of the forest are most important for their protection, and how the use of radio transmitters is revealing unprecedented details about the habitat of these birds. In addition to revealing the beauty of these birds, the video also raises an important warning: forest fragmentation and habitat loss remain the main threats to the region's biodiversity.
