Bikepacking to Bullfrog Lake on my E-Bike

For this trip, I loaded up my new Jansno X80 e-bike and headed to Bullfrog Lake for an overnight bikepacking adventure. Even though I got a late start, I still made it to camp before sunset and was surprised to find I had the entire non-electric campground almost completely to myself. After setting up camp and organizing my gear, I grabbed my fishing rod and spent the evening casting a few lines from the dock. The fish weren't biting, but the peaceful views made it worth every minute. Back at camp, I built a campfire, cooked a Mountain House meal, and relaxed while watching King of the Hill on my portable projector. Before settling in for the night, I also tested the Acebeam UC3A flashlight. Despite its compact size, it packs up to 900 lumens of brightness, features USB-C rechargeable charging, multiple lighting modes, and an IP68-rated aluminum body designed to handle wet and rugged outdoor conditions. It quickly earned a place in my camping kit. The next morning I woke up to birds singing and sunlight shining through my tent. Before packing up, I made one last trip to the fishing dock hoping to catch breakfast—but the fish had other plans. Once camp was packed away, the adventure wasn't over. Instead of heading straight home, I rode over to the Palos trail system to really test the Jansno X80 on rugged terrain. I was genuinely impressed with how well the bike handled dirt trails, uneven ground, hills, and rough sections of trail before finishing the ride back through the city. Another unforgettable overnight adventure—and another reminder that you don't have to travel far to enjoy the outdoors.
