Gen 17:1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless.” Gen 17:2 And he said to him, “I establish my covenant between me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly.” Gen 17:3 [3-4] And God said to Abram, “Behold, I establish my covenant with you, and you shall be a father of many nations.” Gen 17:4 - - - Gen 17:5 And your name shall no more be called Abram; I have made you a father of many nations; your name shall be Abraham. Gen 17:6 I will make you exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. Gen 17:7 I will establish my covenant between me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, to be a God to you and to your descendants after you. Gen 17:8 I will give to you and to your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession, and I will be their God. Gen 17:9 And God said to him, “You shall keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations.” Gen 17:10 This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and thee, and thy seed after thee: Every male among you shall be circumcised. Gen 17:11 And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin: and it shall be a token of the covenant between me and thee. Gen 17:12 And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you throughout your generations, he that is born in thine house, or he that is bought with money of a stranger, which is not of thy seed: Gen 17:13 He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with money of thy seed, he shall surely be circumcised. And my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. Gen 17:14 Any uncircumcised male, whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people. He has broken my covenant. Gen 17:15 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai: for Sarah the daughter of a king is her name. Gen 17:16 And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: I will bless her; and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall come of her. Gen 17:17 Then Abraham fell on his face, and laughed, and said, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? Shall Sarah, which is ninety years old, bear? And Abraham said to God, “Oh that Ishmael might live before you and bless you!” And God said, “Sarah your wife will bear you a son indeed, and you shall call his name Isaac, and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him.” And God said, “As for Ishmael, I have heard what you have said. Behold, I have blessed him and made him fruitful and multiply him exceedingly; twelve kings shall he beget; and I will make him the father of all the nations of the earth.” I will make him a great nation; but I will establish my covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this set time next year. And God went up from Abraham, as soon as he had finished speaking with him. And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every man of Abraham's house, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskins in the selfsame day, as God had said to him. And Abraham was ninety and nine years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskins. And Ishmael his son circumcised the flesh of their foreskins in the selfsame day, as God had said to him. And Abraham circumcised the flesh of his foreskins in the selfsame day, and Ishmael his son He was thirteen years old when he was circumcised. Gen 17:26 On the same day Abraham and his son Ishmael were circumcised. Gen 17:27 All the males in his household, those born in his household and those bought with money from a foreigner, were circumcised with him.
