GUE Wreck Diving Project Scapa Flow 2019
This documentary is about the GUE Wreck Diving Project in Scapa Flow 100 years after the scuttling of the German High Seas Fleet. On June 21st 1919, the German High Seas Fleet was scuttled in Scapa Flow. Since then, most of the ships have been salvaged, however 7 ships still remain on the seabed off the shore of the Orkney Islands. 100 years after the scuttling, GUE divers around Richard Walker and Benjamin Ott started to document the condition of the wrecks in order to observe gradual changes. Additionally, they started to investigate the impact the scuttling had on the marine life in orcadian waters.
