Whitcomb 65 Tonner Diesel Locomotive #9 in Operation
After months of cleaning, troubleshooting, repairing and replacing of parts, this Whitcomb diesel at the Trolley Museum of New York in Kingston, NY made its first moves along the rails on November 21, 2015. It is currently the only Whitcomb 65 Tonner Diesel in the state of New York. The diesel, former South Brooklyn Railway #9, ran under its own power after several years of inactivity. While the diesel locomotive only moved just a few feet in both directions, this proved to be a huge milestone for all volunteers and for the museum.
