19 Spitfire Parade - Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow

The finale, on the first day of Duxfords Battle of Britain Airshow 2018, featured 19 Supermarine Spitfires. While the Imperial War Museums Mk.I Spitfire, N3200, did a graceful aerobatic display, acting as the 'Joker' to keep the crowd entertained, the remaining 18 Spitfires joined together for a memorable and spectacular flypast. The fact that 19 Spitfires were in the sky together was very appropriate, as Duxford based 19 Squadron Royal Air Force was the first RAF Squadron to be equipped with Spitfires. The RAFs first Spitfire was delivered to 19 Squadron at RAF Duxford on 4th August 1938. The Supermarine Spitfires seen here are, in order of take off:- 1/.
