I was delighted to discover the studio in which Queen recorded Bohemian Rhapsody (and, indeed, the entire "A Night at the Opera" album) back in 1975 is only an hour's drive from where I live! Naturally, I gave the studio a call and not long afterwards I was at Rockfields walking in the footsteps of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon, and recording my own piano arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody. As a huge admirer of Queen, this was a wonderful experience, and I'd like to share it with you. Some of you might know that the eponymous film, directed by Bryan Singer, is due to be released on 24th October. From a musical point of view, and for those singing along(!), I opted not to include the 2nd verse. Whilst it clearly adds to the narrative in the original, verses tend to fare less well in lyric-less piano solo renditions. Anyhow, here are the lyrics: Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?
