Authorities are investigating two explosions that struck central Damascus during French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Syria, leaving at least 18 people injured, according to Syrian state media. The blasts occurred near a Four Seasons Hotel where Macron had stayed before departing for meetings with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa. French officials say Macron had already left the area and did not hear the explosions. Syrian state media reports investigators believe two explosive devices were used, including one hidden beneath a vehicle and another placed inside a dumpster. The incident comes just days after another deadly bombing in Damascus and highlights ongoing security concerns as Syria's new government works to stabilize the country following the fall of former President Bashar al-Assad.
