Can April Save Our Vegetable Garden During France's Heat Wave?

147 Life in rural France comes with plenty of rewards—and a few challenges! 🌿 In today's episode, April gives an update on our vegetable garden across the street from our French stone house and shows the creative way she keeps everything watered using a wheelbarrow and large bucket during this intense summer heat. We also provide an update on the fruit trees we planted a few years ago. While we sadly lost our plum tree, our apple, cherry, peach, and fig trees are doing well thanks to April's dedication and daily watering... The tomatoes, squash, and pumpkin are hanging on, but France's heat wave is putting our garden to the test. Later, we visit our favorite local butcher in Razès to pick up some beautiful cuts of meat and a delicious side of gratin dauphinois for dinner. Along the way, we share a fun little French language surprise about "filet mignon" and why ordering it in France isn't quite what many Americans expect! Join us for another day of simple living, gardening, great food, and life in the French countryside.
