Sunrise to Dick Creek Camp | Wonderland Trail Backpacking Day 1

We have started our journey along the Wonderland Trail and we begin at Sunrise. We decided to do the loop counterclockwise, and on Day 1 we need to reach Dick Creek Camp. This route is about 14 miles with 2900' of elevation gain and 5000' of elevation loss. This section starts off with amazing views of Mt Rainier for the first half of the day. Then we start to descend and enter the forest with some meadow sections. There's one major river crossing with glaciers along the side which is really neat!
