A Rainy Weekend Solo Backpacking in Montana

This was my three-day, two-night backpacking trip up into the Rattlesnake Wilderness, just North of Missoula, Montana. It was cold, wet, and rainy, but I still had a great time exploring the stunning scenery that Montana has to offer. After a brutal first day with 10.5 miles, lots of elevation gain, and only 3.5 hours of daylight, I had some incredible views of apine lakes, and the beautiful, cloudy valley below. I also found an awesome old forest service cabin deep in the woods near three of the most incredible, isolated alpine lakes I've ever seen. 15 miles later, I settled into camp for the night and had a great time finally relaxing. The final, rainy morning had a quick, easy, cozy hike back to the trailhead. This trip really had it all!!! #explore #solo #adventure #backpacking #montana Timestamps: Day 1: 0:00 Day 2: 3:29 Day 3: 14:42
