LAFD Battles Vegetation Fire on 90 Fwy.: Station 67

Los Angeles Fire Department Engine 63 was dispatched alone to a rubbish fire on the 90 Fwy. X Lincoln Blvd. at 1201 hrs. E63 arrived on scene to find a homeless encampment burning in medium to heavy brush in between the eastbound and westbound sides of the 90 Fwy. between Culver Blvd. & Lincoln Blvd. BC4 arrived shortly after and requested 2 additional engines, upgrading the incident type to a grass fire. BC4 requested more engines to shuttle water to companies providing a water supply, LA County Camp Crews and LAFD Crew 3 were requested but quickly canceled. Forward progress was stopped and containment was reached in a little over an hour with 30 personnel. No injuries reported, 1 person of interest was taken into custody by LAPD Pacific Division Officers.
