LACo.FD Detached Garage Fire: Station 173

At 1246 hrs., Los Angeles County Fire Department Battalion 20 companies were dispatched to a reported structure fire in 173’s area on the 2700 block of W. 78th Pl. Units assigned: Battalion 20, Light Force 170, Engine 14, Engine 171, Engine 172, Engine 173, Squad 173, McCormick Amb., & Inglewood Police E173 was first on scene of a 1 story single family dwelling w/ smoke showing from a 1 story converted detached garage to the rear. E173 was primary fire attack with backup from E171, LF170 went to the roof, and remaining companies assisted with utilities, salvage, and overhaul. BC20 was Inglewood IC. Knockdown was called within 20 minutes, the seat of the fire was discovered to be in the attic of the structure. No injuries, unknown cause.
