Piecing Together the Puzzle
Since its inception, Yad Vashem has been collecting letters, photographs and a myriad of personal items from the Holocaust era in order to reveal the unique stories that lie behind each item and to preserve these precious objects for future generations. This lies at the heart of Yad Vashem's mission. During this special lecture, Dr. Haim Gertner, Yad Vashem's Director of the Archives and Fred Hillman Chair for Holocaust Documentation, will uncover how Yad Vashem experts are scouring through documents, examining artifacts, and using state-of-the art technology to piece together the individual identities of Holocaust victims and safeguard their history for generations to come.
