Can an ATAS-120 REALLY Work on a Mag Mount? | Episode 1

Well folks, after joking around about Joe Brett's lost ATAS-120, it's time to put this one to work. This video kicks off a new series where I'm going to see if I can make an ATAS-120 work on nothing but a mag mount. Why? Because my wife has made it very clear there will be no drilling holes in her vehicle. So we're going to do this the hard way and see what happens. In this first episode, we're starting with a baseline test. Will it tune? What bands will it tune? And is this crazy idea even worth pursuing? Over the next few videos we'll be trying different tricks, testing different bands, and seeing if a little Hillbilly Engineering can turn this into a practical mobile HF setup.
