ATAS-120 Mag Mount Experiment: Does it tune the same at the park as the house

Back in the first ATAS-120 mag mount test, I could not get 30 or 40m to tune. That got me wondering... does location matter? In this video, I'm taking the same ATAS-120 and mag mount setup from the house to a local park to see if the surroundings are affecting how the antenna tunes. Will getting away from houses, power lines, and neighborhood clutter make a difference, or will the results be the same? This old hillbilly isn't changing anything except the location. Same antenna. Same mag mount. Same vehicle. Different place. Let's see what happens and learn a little more about what the ATAS-120 likes—and doesn't like. If you're following this series, be sure to subscribe because I'm documenting the whole process of getting an ATAS-120 working on a mag mount without drilling holes in the vehicle. 73, KE6GAE – The Hillbilly Ham Where Ham Radio Comes to Life #HamRadio #ATAS120 #Yaesu #MobileHF #MagMount #AmateurRadio #KE6GAE #TheHillbillyHam #AntennaTesting #MobileAntenna #PortableHF #HamRadioExperiment #WorldRadioLeague
